My roots are linked deep down with the tradition and lifestyle of our region, which is enriched with matchless aesthetical, geographical socio-political, environmental and cultural values. I found Miniature as a pure, original and traditional art form so I owned it as a major subject and in doing so becoming the first student of NCA graduating in miniature painting.

I did contemporary and modern miniatures during my thesis under guidance of
Ustad Bashir Ahmed in 1984 for the first time in Pakistan. Since then I am constantly in quest of new horizons and exploring improvised creative thoughts in an age old traditional art form of miniature and for me this process is a lifelong pursuit.

Ever since my first interaction with the medium I have found myself intrigued by its school of techniques. After 27 years of working with its numerous techniques and materials I feel that I can now identify myself with the skills that the old masters used in their paintings.I did contemporary and modern miniatures during my thesis in 1984 for the first time in Pakistan.
